Alliance for Education and Gender Protection

We Inspire, Educate and Transform

We empower young people, women and communities to build a just, inclusive and climate-resilient Sierra Leone through education, gender protection, digital innovation and sustainable development.

Who We Are

The Alliance for Education and Gender Protection (AEGP) Sierra Leone is a pioneering non-profit, non-governmental organization established in January 2022. We are a dynamic collective of innovators, educators, advocates and youth leaders dedicated to creating a just, prosperous and resilient Sierra Leone. AEGP operates at the critical nexus of Gender Equality, Inclusive Education, Climate Action and Youth Empowerment through innovation and creativity. We recognize that these challenges are interconnected and require holistic, integrated solutions. We champion the rights and potential of women, girls, Disabilities, youth and marginalized communities, ensuring they have the skills and platforms needed to lead positive change, develop sustainable innovations and thrive in the face of global challenges. We are committed to integrity, transparency and collaboration for maximum national impact.

Our Mission & Vision

🎯 Our Mission

Our mission is to advance gender equality, address climate change challenges, and empower youth through transformative education, strategic advocacy, community empowerment and the protection of the rights of vulnerable populations. We achieve this by leveraging technology, advocating for inclusive policies and building robust partnerships that maximize collective impact and foster a more equitable, sustainable and resilient society.

👁️ Our Vision

AEGP envisions an inclusive Sierra Leone where gender equality is fully realized, education is accessible to all, where climate change is effectively addressed through innovation and resilience, and where all youth are empowered as proactive leaders of positive change, enjoying equal opportunities to contribute to sustainable development.

What We Do

Gender Equality

⚖️ Gender Equality

AEGP tackles complex development challenges through five integrated and complementary programmatic focus areas, ensuring a holistic approach to empowerment: 1-Gender Equality Advocacy & Protection: We actively lobby for policy reform and implementation to promote women's and girls' rights. This includes targeted programs to prevent and respond to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), combat harmful traditional practices, and ensure sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). 2-Climate Action & Environmental Sustainability: We mainstream climate change adaptation and mitigation into all programs. This involves promoting climate literacy, environmental conservation, sustainable waste management initiatives and advocating for climate justice. 3-Inclusive Education: We deliver quality, accessible education and training, utilizing EdTech solutions to bridge the digital divide. We focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and life skills for underserved populations, including girls and persons with disabilities. 4-Youth Empowerment & Leadership: We provide dedicated platforms and resources such as incubators, hackathons and mentorship schemes to develop the skills and leadership capacity of young people (under 35), enabling them to launch and scale social and digital innovations. We support the development of a strong local innovation ecosystem by establishing promoting skills and advocating for policies that ensure equitable access to technology and empower digital citizenship.
